Grit, Luck, and 3,714 Miles

Happy New Year! Being in 2026 means we are only a year and a half away from the next Motorcycle TransAm, and that has us saying ‘woohoo’ already.

Today, we want to put a big spotlight on the riders who finished the TransAm with a perfect score. Making all 3,714 miles was no easy feat. Not even close.

These riders tackled the twisty turns of the Tail of the Dragon, everything the Appalachian Mountains could throw at them, cold mornings, high mountain passes in Colorado, rain at 39 degrees, freezing desert mornings, ninety degree afternoons on the plains, and the extreme fog of the Pacific Northwest. When we say it wasn’t easy, it truly was not easy.

Even on days when things went wrong, these riders did everything they could to come back and make every mile possible. That is something we can all learn from. Getting your butt handed to you, fixing the problem, sometimes running on almost no sleep, and still showing up the next morning ready to make miles.

Our perfect score riders were: Michael Butts, Frank Westfall, Erik Bahl, Pat Murphy, Brianna Meisinger, Pat Olson, Danger Dan, Scott Bernardson, Bryan Bossier, Samuele Reali, Jerry Wieland, Norm Berg, Luca Geron, and Bob Jesernik.

These pilots gave it their all. And let’s be honest, it also takes a little bit of luck. Sometimes something catastrophic happens that you could never plan for or even imagine.

We are proud of every single rider who takes on the Motorcycle TransAm. But today we give a special hooray to these riders who, with a whole lot of grit and just a little bit of luck, made every single mile.
