I am Mark Coyne from Mt. Pleasant, MI. I am rider #90, riding a 1917 Henderson 4 cylinder, 3 speed with 934cc. These are often called “Detroit” Hendersons.
I grew up in a family of motorcycle enthusiasts with both my mother and father owning bikes. I still own my mother’s 1964 BMW R-60 and my father’s 1968 HD XLCH. My first bike was a 1971 HD Baja 100 that I bought new when I was 14 years old!
My brother, David, and I are third-generation owners of a fuel/propane distributorship that was started by our grandfather in 1930 as a Standard Oil Agent. We now have a fourth generation of Coyne family members running this business.
I am a vintage motorcycle enthusiast/collector. The 2025 Trans American Motorcycle Endurance Run will be my third cross-country event. In 2021, I rode a 1929 Henderson KJ in the Motorcycle Cannonball. In 2023 I rode a 1930 Henderson KJ Police Bike in the Cannonball, achieving a perfect score.Â
