Today, September 2nd, 2025, marked the unofficial kick-off of the Motorcycle TransAm, and what a fantastic start it was! Riders and crews rolled into the Outer Banks Harley-Davidson for our pre-party, and it was everything we hoped for, good food, great friends, and, of course, incredible old motorcycles.
The HOG Chapter at Harley-Davidson spoiled us with delicious food, and the energy was electric as everyone started catching up. The first to arrive was none other than Norm Nelson, who came all the way from Colorado. Shortly after, Team Dakota showed up and unloaded Dave’s beautiful 1911. Then we got a treat when Team Butts’, Mike, Larry, Brianna, and Scott; rode their century-old motorcycles right from the hotel into the dealership. What a sight!
And for all the other riders, we’re not forgetting about you. Because of you, this whole thing is happening, and we absolutely love seeing each and every one of you roll in with your bikes and smiles.
One of the highlights of the night? Taking a sidecar ride in Bill Page’s 1925 JD. Smooth as can be, it honestly felt like floating!
Everyone mingled for hours, reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones. We also handed out practice maps and rider packets, so we’re ready to roll.
Tomorrow the fun continues with VIN checks, and we get to see the people we haven’t seen yet (yes, we’re looking at you Wolfpack and Italian Team, don’t think we didn’t notice you sneaking in late!). After a busy day of inspections, we’ll cap it all off with our big banquet.
We can’t wait to see everyone together, this is going to be one unforgettable adventure.
