Let’s talk about the farthest-traveled team we had in the race this week, Team Italy! These guys came from across the ocean to take on the TransAm, and they brought with them a ton of heart, enthusiasm, and energy. Before they even hit the starting line, they faced challenges most of us could only imagine. From getting their bikes ready months before the race so they could be shipped to the States, to tracking down the oil once they arrived, renting a truck, sorting through customs paperwork, and figuring out all the small but critical details, it took serious dedication and teamwork to pull it all off.
The riders were Luca Geron and Samuele Reali, supported by Davide Aresi and Floriano. Together, they made one incredible crew. Like every strong TransAm team, they knew that success comes from everyone doing their part. No one person does it all, and the way they worked together showed that perfectly. In the end, both Luca and Samuele made every single mile across the country, and they did it with the kind of effortless style only the Italians can pull off.
Their days were filled with adventure, and their nights were filled with teamwork. Each evening you could find Team Italy set up in the pits, fine-tuning and maintaining their bikes. They had an impressive pit setup that became a familiar sight to everyone. Sometimes they were up late into the night making adjustments, sometimes they wrapped up early to share stories and laughs with other riders, but no matter what, their bikes were always ready to roll at the starting line the next morning.
Every mile of the TransAm is tough. The road can be unpredictable, the weather can turn in an instant, and the old bikes can be finicky. But these guys handled it all with calm confidence and big smiles. They truly embraced what the TransAm is all about: the ride, the friendships, the moments in between, and the sense of adventure that comes from crossing an entire country on century-old machines.
They brought light, laughter, and a sense of joy to every stop. Whether it was a long, hot day on the road or a chilly morning start, Team Italy was there with a grin and a good attitude. Their positive energy was contagious, and their love for the experience shone through every mile.
We are so happy they put in all the work to get here, to keep their bikes running strong, and to make every single mile together. Team Italy reminded all of us why we do this: for the love of the ride, the community, and the stories that last a lifetime.
