Sharon “Panhead” Chasles

Hi, my name is Sharon “Panhead” Chasles. My husband “Panhead” Pat and I live in a small town outside of Frederick, Maryland.

I have been riding motorcycles since 1998. My first bike was a Sportster and I quickly moved to an EVO Softail. From there, a couple of modern bikes passed in and out of my collection.

When I married Pat, he owned many vintage motorcycles. I was curious, they were super cool, a little clunky and looked like a blast to ride. In 2019, a 1929 JD arrived, (really, just a frame and some parts in several boxes)! Next thing I know, he signed up for the 2021 Motorcycle Cannonball. While he rode our 1929 JD, I drove the truck dragging our trailer from Sault Ste. Marie, MI to South Padre Island, TX. We made so many fantastic new friends and, by the end of the trip, the old motorcycle seed was firmly planted. I HAD to do something epic!

Fast forward a year and I had the great pleasure of riding our 1965 Panhead FLH on the inaugural Chix event, Chix on 66. I rode our Pan from Maryland to the start in Milwaukee. From there we rode to Chicago, where we picked up the start of Route 66. We then rode every mile to Santa Monica, California. During that ride, a tight bond was formed between myself and a few of the other ladies on vintage bikes. Three of them were on kick start only hard tails. I thought that was beyond cool. I had to “level up”! I learned to ride a tank shift/foot clutch (it wasn’t pretty!) and now I am ready for a new adventure!

I followed the 2025 TransAmerican like a hawk and loved what you all put together. I am riding a 1927 JD that we purchased, in boxes, in 2020. It’s now running and rolling! I could not be more excited to participate in this event! My personal goal is to have a great time, meet lots of new people, and never end up on the sweep truck! I KNOW I will have a fantastic time and meet great people; fingers crossed with the sweep truck!
